ABOUT

Angie D is a bellydance performer, instructor, and choreographer known for her fusion styles of bellydance.

Though Angie D is from a small town, tucked inside the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, she has had several amazing opportunities to perform and train with world renowned bellydancers.  Some of her favorite performances include performing with Beats Antique on the "A Thousand Faces - Act 2" tour, at their stop in Black Mountain, NC, and also being cast as a dancer in 2014 Zoe Jakes House of Tarot - Asheville production, and as a guest performer in the 2016 House of Tarot tour production.

Angie is experienced in traditional bellydance styles and enjoys playing her zills and dancing with a veil, but loves nothing more than getting down to some of her favorite urban songs, and getting slow and slinky with tribal fusion.  As a soloist, she primarily performs tribal fusion and urban fusion styles of bellydance.

When she is not performing, Angie can be found teaching and practicing in her private studio, Studio D, in Kingsport, Tn.  It is there where she finds her real joy in bellydance; working with local students on developing their skills, and creating her own original choreographies for her solo and student troupe performances.  Angie D is the creator and director of the fusion bellydance troupe, The Mona's, and just recently created the urban hip-hop fusion troupe, Posse D.  She also offers a variety of classes to students of all levels.

Dance has been a major part of Angie's life since she was 3.  She has a background in competitive clogging, where she was a long-time member of the award winning
Tennessee Hoedowners, and Irish step dance, where she was able to train under Karl Drake.  She credits her percussive dance background for her staccato bellydance isolations, unique foot patterns, and love for zills.
